Here’s an easy guide to help you achieve professional-quality results from home:

→ Start by downloading your files right after checkout. Marina’s Mama Designs includes both high-resolution PDFs and JPGs, giving you options depending on where you plan to print.

✅ Best Paper for Invitations

Use heavy cardstock to give invitations a premium feel:

  • 100–110 lb (typically labeled “cardstock”)
  • Matte for a soft, modern look
  • Satin for a slightly more polished finish

Avoid glossy photo paper unless you are going for a shiny style - ink can sometimes smudge when writing details like guest names.

✂️ How to Print 5×7 Invitations at Home

There are two easy ways to print 5×7 invitations using a home printer:

Option 1 — Print on Letter-Size Paper + Trim

If your printer doesn’t support 5×7, you can still print beautifully!

1️⃣ Open your 5×7 file
2️⃣ In Printer Settings:

    • Paper Size: 8.5×11 Letter
    • Print Orientation: Portrait

Select Center / Fit to Page (but avoid stretching — ensure it remains 5×7)

3️⃣ Print on letter-size cardstock
4️⃣ Trim around the card using scissors or a paper trimmer

➡️ This method works on any home printer.

Option 2 — Print Directly on 5×7 Cardstock

If your printer supports smaller sizes:

1️⃣ Adjust printer tray to fit 5×7 cardstock
2️⃣ Open the single 5×7 PDF or JPG
3️⃣ In Printer Settings:

    • Page size: 5×7 (Borderless if available)
    • Orientation: Portrait
    • Quality: Best / High
4️⃣ Print a test card to ensure alignment
5️⃣ Let ink dry fully before stacking

→ Perfect if you want pre-cut cards ready to send!

🏪 Other Printing Options: Print Shop or Online Services

If you’d rather skip the trimming, take your files to:

  • Staples / UPS Store / Local copy shop
  • Costco Photo Center
  • Vistaprint or Canva Print

Just upload the file and select 5×7, cardstock, and cut-to-size for a polished finish.
